There Are Some Jobs
Only The Boss Can Do
by Tom Egelhoff
I can't think of a single business I know that would tell me they have poor customer service. Every business strives to make every customer special...right? Then why do so many people list poor customer service and attention as a reason they stop doing business with a company.
Sometimes the customer has a legitimate complaint. If this is the case take care of the customer but inform the owner of the problem and have the owner contact the customer.
This does two things: 1.) It shows the customer that the owner is in touch with what's happening in his/her business and appreciates the customers business. 2.) It shows the employee what kind of company they are working for. They can talk to customers with a greater degree of confidence because they know management is committed to superior service.
